Avila Digital Archives

Welcome to the Avila Digital Archives

The Avila Digital Archives is a joint project of the Martha Smith, CSJ, Ph.D. Archives & Research Center and the CSJ Center for Heritage. The resources and information presented here tell the history of Avila through the heritage of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.

We present these materials through the lens of the Avila community values:

  • Excellence in teaching and learning
  • The worth, dignity, and potential of each human being
  • Diversity and its expression
  • The development of the whole person
  • Right relationships with God, self, others, and creation
  • Service with the dear neighbor

This project is made possible with generous funding from CIC/NetVUE through their Reimagining the Institutional Saga grant program.
