Liberal Arts Program

The Liberal Arts major at Avila

The 120-credit BA in Liberal Arts Studies provides a customizable multidisciplinary education across humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The curriculum begins with foundational courses in behavioral science, humanities, and science to establish breadth of knowledge. Core courses develop key capacities in writing, research, analysis, creativity, and global perspectives.

With a synthesis capstone at the end, students integrate their diverse studies and articulate the value of a well-rounded liberal arts education for the modern world. Graduates gain transferable skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and making connections between ideas and fields. The program cultivates agile, open-minded individuals able to understand complex issues from multiple angles. With an adaptable foundation rather than narrow specialization, liberal arts majors can thrive in diverse careers and positively shape a dynamic world.
