The 120-credit-hour Liberal Arts Studies, B.A. degree is a multidisciplinary offering that encourages both integrative learning and critical thinking while developing career-based skills for life following graduation.

Liberal Arts Studies majors have flexibility for independent inquiry by choosing courses from multiple disciplines. This major is for students who are interested in several related disciplines, identify as independent thinkers, or wish to accommodate prior coursework.

Course Requirements

  • LA 101 – Liberal Arts Foundations
  • Behavioral or Social Science Course at the 100-400 Level
  • Humanities Course at the 100-400 Level
  • Natural Science Course at the 100-400 Level
  • 15+ hours in selected concentration
  • LA 499 – Seminar in Liberal Arts Studies

Choose a Concentration

Students select a 15+ credit concentration in one of the following areas, taking upper-level courses suited to their interests. The 5 concentrations are:

  • Arts and Humanities
  • Behavior and Social Sciences
  • Digital Content Management
  • English
  • Natural Science
