Trisha Phipps, PhD, MSN, RN (Program Director, Distance Learning in Nursing) began teaching at Avila in Fall 2023. She teaches in both the ABSN and RN-BSN programs. Trisha has been a nurse since 2001 specializing in med/surg nursing, critical-care nursing, and correctional nursing.
Trisha believes that nursing education is a transformative journey that integrates evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making. Her role as an educator is to inspire curiosity, facilitate active learning, and empower students to become lifelong learners who contribute meaningfully to the profession and global community. By incorporating diverse learning strategies, experiential learning, and interprofessional collaboration, she strives to cultivate a culture of excellence where students develop the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for holistic, patient-centered care.
