Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
As an undergraduate psychology major at Avila, you will develop the critical reasoning, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills required for a wide range of career areas from health care to law to public relations. If your goal is to become a licensed counselor or psychologist, your Avila undergraduate psychology degree will prepare you to enter master’s and doctoral graduate programs.
You can choose one of three areas of concentration to best suit your career path:

Through college course work, field experiences, involvement in Psi Chi (psychology honor society)/ psychology club, and an apprenticeship-model of research in one of our active research labs, you will experience collaborative, participatory learning, with real-world applications.
Master of Science in Psychology Accelerated 4+1 Option
The department of Psychology offers a 4+1 accelerated program to outstanding undergraduate Avila psychology students allowing a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology to be earned in as few as five years. Through admission to the 4+1 program, undergraduate students with senior standing may earn up to 12 credit hours at the graduate level to be counted toward both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
