You can choose an area of concentration to best suit your career path:

  • Mental Health
  • Research
  • Cognitive Science
  • General

Through college coursework, field experiences, involvement in Psi Chi (psychology honor society)/ psychology club, and an apprenticeship research model in one of our active research labs, you will experience collaborative, participatory learning, with real-world applications.

Master of Science in Psychology Accelerated 4+1 Option

The School of Psychology offers a 4+1 accelerated program to outstanding undergraduate Avila psychology students, allowing a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology (not counseling) to be earned in as few as five years. Through admission to the 4+1 program, undergraduate students with senior standing may earn up to 12 credit hours at the graduate level to be counted toward both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Interested students should contact Philip Gebauer for information about how to apply. The admission process should be started early to ensure timely consideration. Students may consult with their academic advisor and review the requirements on the graduate psychology web page before applying.
