Kansas City, Mo. — Avila University will host a historic evening of dialogue, reflection, and civic leadership as part of the Harry S. Truman Distinguished Lecture Series with “Dialogue with Descendants: A Truman–Eisenhower Legacy Conversation” on Thursday, January 29, 2025, at the Goppert Theatre on Avila University’s campus.
This special event brings together Mary Jean Eisenhower, granddaughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Clifton Truman Daniel, grandson of President Harry S. Truman, for a rare and engaging conversation examining leadership, legacy, and the enduring impact of two American presidents whose decisions shaped the modern world. The discussion will be moderated by Merrill Eisenhower, great-grandson of President Eisenhower.
Together, the speakers will offer personal insight into the values, challenges, and defining moments of the Truman and Eisenhower presidencies, connecting historical leadership to today’s civic and global landscape.
