A group of actors gathers in a rehearsal room with an ambitious goal: to tell the story of the first genocide of the 20th century. As they begin constructing a performance about the Herero people of Namibia and their systematic destruction under German colonial rule, the process feels earnest, collaborative… even hopeful. But the work refuses to stay contained. The rehearsal room fractures.
