Strategic Communication Program

The Strategic Communication major at Avila

This program offers a valuable asset to virtually any organization or business as it is designed to be flexible for working professionals. The courses are delivered in a convenient and flexible online format.

Are you interested in learning how to effectively communicate messages? This curriculum provides a broad foundation in communication theory, media analysis, ethics, and persuasion strategies. Core courses build abilities in advertising, public relations, branding, presentation, and analytics. Topics include campaign development, audience engagement, crisis response, and integrated marketing. Students also gain business acumen through courses in management, marketing, law, economics, and organizational behavior. With a real-world approach, the program emphasizes hands-on skills in writing, content creation, data analysis, and project leadership. Other learning experiences include conflict resolution, diversity training, and professional internships.

Graduates emerge with expertise to develop cohesive messaging and engagement plans that advance organizational goals. They are equipped to ethically lead stakeholder communication, amplify brand stories, measure impact, and adapt to new media landscapes.

This program is one of Avila’s flexible programs. It can be done online as an undergraduate program, online as a master’s program or you can combine in-person core classes with the online courses for a true hybrid undergraduate experience. Choose the program best suited for you!
