Avila’s School of Education has been preparing teachers since 1940. The School of Education has a strong tradition of preparing reflective teachers who impact the changing world. Students who choose education as their major can choose from several choices from working with elementary grades to high school. Our graduates are reflective teachers who impact a changing world.

Over the past ten years, an average of 95% of our graduates were hired immediately and are currently working in school districts.

The School of Education has a reputation for graduating excellent teachers who are well prepared to teach today’s children and youth. Our comprehensive programs focus on content knowledge, research-based pedagogy, and practical application through field-based and clinical experiences.

Students with a BS in Education can pursue careers in public, private, or charter schools with the appropriate teacher certification based on their major (program of study).

Avila offers a degree in Elementary Education both in-person and as part of a Master’s degree program. Choose the program that is right for you!
