Responsibilities:

Clinical adjunct instructors that could include the following placements (in-patient environment only):

Responsibilities  

The School of Natural and Applied Sciences is hiring for the role of part-time Student Teaching Assistant to assist the main laboratory instructors with the  first year chemistry laboratory classes. The Student Teaching Assistant will monitor laboratory classes on specific dates during the fall semester as well as help with data entry and other laboratory prep activities for a total of 50-55 hours during the scheduled fall 2021  semester.

 

Qualifications Applicants must have previous knowledge in  chemistry course (General Chemistry course or equivalent) and completed the course with a grade of B or higher.

Appointment Date July 1, 2021
Responsibilities Coordinates all circulation activities including the promotion and maintenance of books, reserves, journals, closed stacks, newspapers, and laptops.  Responsible for training, scheduling, and supervising: student staff, graduate assistants, and part-time evening library personnel. Will monitor and correct student, GA, and part-time staff job performance. Will monitor patron usage patterns and adjust staffing and scheduling appropriately.   Adjust staffing to improve activities and workflow.  Gather data for end-of-the-year reports.

Supervises collection and accounting of fines and fees collection at the circulation desk. Coordinates with the Business office regarding student payments.  Supervises distribution of print reserve materials and serials check-in.  Participates as a member of the library team and contributes to the development of departmental goals objectives, policies, procedures, and service standards.  Participates as a member of the Kansas City Access Committee and MOBIUS Access Groups.  Develops procedural manuals and conducts workshops to aid in training new staff members on circulation desk processes.  Assists patrons with questions and queries; provides information regarding library system policies and procedures.  Provides Database instruction to students, staff, and faculty in formal and informal settings.    Manage daily shelving activities for books, journals newspapers; supervise stack maintenance establish efficient workflow patterns in coordination with other library departments; plan and organize shifting projects; establish shelf reading schedule.  Professional development attending MOBIUS Conference training, Brick and Click, and other online training as appropriate.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.  5 years of experience in a library.  Familiarity in ILS iii preferred.  Experience with cataloging preferred.

Responsibilities The Office Assistant provides clerical support to the administrative function of the Registrar’s Office. The position ensures the smooth function of the workflow of the office, supports the customer service provision of the office, and greets and interacts with the public. Meet and interact with public and employees in routine situations which require tact, discretion and courtesy.

Answer phones and address caller issues, and route calls to appropriate individuals.

Handles enrollment, major changes, graduation applications, agreement plans, and exception forms. Transcribes incoming transcripts from Kansas City area colleges/universities with agreement plans.

Provide a variety of clerical duties including accurately entering data and maintaining student files and imaged files.

Review and monitor new student files for completion and move to electronic files.

Process and record student verifications, change of personal information, and other student requests.

Sort and classify incoming mail and other information for efficient disbursement to appropriate recipients. Responsible for weekly deposits to the Business Office.

Ability to handle confidential information with complete security.

Assists with maintaining confidentiality of student information per FERPA.

Supports and follows directives of Registrar and Associate Registrar.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High Diploma or GED and up to one-year experience.

Must have a strong working knowledge with MS Word and Excel. Establish cooperative relationships in a calm tactful manner.

Position Available Student Support Services Director

Responsibilities Avila University seeks applicants for a full-time director for a federally grant-funded Department of Education, TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. The SSS program serves 150 first generation and limited income students. The purpose of Student Support Services is to increase retention and graduation rates of students in the program.

Advise all third- and fourth- year students and maintain student records

Supervise the identification and selection of participants

Supervise, hire, terminate, and train program staff

Monitor program expenditures and provide a monthly budget to the TRIO Director

Oversee the distribution of SSS grant aid with the Financial Literacy Coordinator and ensure compliance with Department of Education guidelines

Monitor students’ attendance, behavior, grades, test scores, and credits earned; implement improvement strategies and action plans

Co-teach First Year Seminar with SSS Academic Coordinator

Assist in the planning of summer activities, which includes summer courses and two bridge tracks (intensive residential component as well as commuter course)

Oversee graduate school test prep, applications, and campus visits

Individual advising to ensure students are on track for graduation and meeting Avila requirements

Assist in planning of SSS activities and workshops based on student needs

Assist students in navigating towards their career and identify potential internships and job opportunities

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Education:     Master’s degree in education, psychology, social sciences, or related fields or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social science, business, or related fields plus at least 2 years’ experience in supervisory role with TRIO programs

Skills:           Must be motivated, have meticulous attention to detail, have interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team is necessary. Excellent writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must have knowledge and skills in formative and summative program evaluation skills.

Experience:   Experience in overcoming barriers or working with individuals similar to those of the target population; experience in fiscal and budget management; experience on retention issues in higher education; knowledge of TRIO and other federal educational programs, experience in grant administration

Position Available Campus Visit Coordinator
Responsibilities Position Summary

Provides administrative support for the Office of Admission and Admissions leadership. Builds and designs the visit experiences for prospective students, and often serves as initial contact for current and prospective students (and parents).

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate, plan and organize all campus visits.
  • Helps coordinate, plan, and organize recruitment events.
  • Manage and maintain the general admission outlook and calendar (Traditional and Adult/Grad).
  • Lead and give direction to student work study and student ambassadors, especially as it pertains to the visit experience.
  • Ensure that families have an exemplary experience while visiting Avila University.
  • Strategize with Admission Leadership to refine and implement new procedures as demand increases.
  • Maintain professional expertise and build skills necessary to accomplish a high level of accomplishment.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:  Requires skill with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be detail oriented and have the prowess to learn new software and web applications.

Preferred Requirements: Associate Degree. Understanding of CRM use and Navigation.
