Jane Brown has over forty-three years as a trial attorney, judge, author and mediator. Published author, 36 MO Practice Landlord Tenant Handbook. Significant local, state and federal Housing experience. Jane has had a lot of firsts. In 1988, she was the first woman to be named partner in a law firm in Clay County, and a few years later she was Clay County’s first female judge. Since 2002, she’s been an assistant U.S. attorney in Kansas City, specializing in tackling fraud and corruption cases. She served as General Counsel to the Mayor of Kansas City during Covid, then lead the Kansas City Housing Authority for the last few years before her retirement. Her husband Tom Brown, a long time political advisor, is the district representative for the office of Congressman Sam Graves. She is a member of the KC Plaza Rotary Club and serves on multiple boards. She is an alum of the UMKC School of Law and St. Teresa’s Academy. Her and Tom are significant contributors to various causes in the KC community. Jane is fluent in Spanish. Jane joined in 2026.
