My name is Joel Short, and I will be your instructor for this course. I live in Clermont, Florida, but I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. I currently work at Empowered as a Director of Business Systems. Previous to this role, I had another role in the Stand Together community as a Technical Product Manager. I joined Stand Together in August of 2022, but was previously at Koch Industries, as a Senior Business Systems Analyst in the Legal IT group for over 10 years and have worked in IT for over 13. I completed in undergraduate degree at Friends University (CIS) and completed my Masters (MBA) at Southwestern College. I have been teaching online since 2016 and have taught and developed several courses at Avila University including: I am married and have two wonderful children, both boys, who are 10 and 27 years old. My hobbies include spending time with my family, being involved at Church and cheering for my favorite teams (Kansas Jayhawks Basketball and Football, Chicago Cubs Baseball and Kansas City Chiefs Football).
