Biology Program

The Biology major at Avila

The Biology (B.S.) provides a foundation in the biological sciences, ranging from microbiology and organismal biology to ecology and global systems. The major is designed for students interested in wildlife management, conservation, medical research, healthcare, animal sciences, education, communications, public service, environmental law, academic science, and related careers.

As part of the academic program, students complete a capstone research project under the direct guidance of biology or chemistry faculty. Two capstone tracks are available: Standard and Honors.

Please review the Core Curriculum page in the Course Catalog for Core Curriculum course options.
