Avila University Singers Headed to Normandy, Le Puy and Paris!
The Avila University Singers have been selected to help commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day and participate in the Paris Choral Festival in the summer of 2019. The Singers will perform on the beach of Normandy and participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the American Cemetery on July 4, 2019. The Singers will also perform in Le Puy-en-Velay, where the Sisters of St. Joseph were founded in 1650, as well as venues throughout Paris and Lyon.
Because of their successful tour of Rome in the summer of 2016, the talented Avila University Singers were hand selected for this opportunity to represent Kansas City and our country for this commemorative trip. A total of 30 students and two Avila University faculty members will proudly represent Avila.
Help congratulate and make the trip possible for these talented students! Avila University will need to raise a minimum of $60,000 to help fund the travel costs of students. Gifts of any amount will deliver a once in a lifetime experience for these students to represent Kansas City and commemorate the anniversary of D-Day, in addition to the opportunity for global learning and a deeper understanding of the heritage of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
