Position Summary
The Grant Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, writing and editing corporate, foundation and government grants, as well as helping to manage grants post-award to meet Avila University’s fundraising goals. 

Principle Responsibilities

  1. Develop, write and edit grant proposals and reports. Submit at least 75 proposals/year, including four federal proposals/year.
  2. Proactively seek to identify new prospects including corporate, foundation and government sources.
  3. Manage the entire grant process from pre-proposal concept development to post-award grant management and reporting. This includes identification, research, writing, editing, budget development, submission and reporting. These activities should be done in collaboration with other appropriate University faculty and staff.
  4. Ensure grant proposals/applications and reports are submitted on time and accurately.
  5. Work with external fundraising consultants to identify new federal grant opportunities. Serve as the point-of-contact during the grant writing process. Submit four federal grant proposals per year, in collaboration with the consultants and University stakeholders.
  6. Assist with other writing projects, like case statements, Accent magazine articles, etc., as needed.
  7. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree; GPC or CFRE certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum three years of successful documented corporate/foundation fundraising experience, preferably in higher education. 

Skills: Must have strong writing, communication and listening skills; pay close attention to detail; manage complex tasks and meet deadlines; and have the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team. Must be self-motivated and disciplined to achieve goals.

Other: Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed; proficiency with Raiser’s Edge as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a plus. Some travel required.

The Director of Classic Upward Bound is responsible for overseeing the Upward Bound grant. Classic Upward Bound works with 74 students at Grandview High School and Ruskin High School.

The Director of Student Financial Services provides leadership and is responsible for the day-to day performance of the Student Financial Services Office including the functions of financial aid and management of student accounts.  Manages all department personnel, records, systems, and funds.  Compiles and submits all required financial aid related reports and applications including FISAP, IPEDS, and the Reapplication to Participate in Title IV Programs.  The position supervises billing and collections of student account balances and manages the University’s portfolio of Perkins loans.  Under the guidance of the new Director, the Student Financial Services Department is expected to continue or exceed its current level of excellence as evidenced by its outstanding customer service, the university's low Stafford Loan default rate and record of no material audit findings.  The Director of Student Financial Services reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and directly supervises a staff of six.

Qualifications
Applicants must be a multi-tasking, self-motivating financial aid professional with proven leadership skills.  Possess a Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) and have three to five years of financial aid experience (5+ years preferred), including previous experience managing a staff of professionals.  The successful candidate must also possess excellent oral and written skills, robust computer skills to include setting up and rolling of award years and packaging rules in financial aid software, and extensive work in Department of Education systems. 

Experience working with Jenzabar, Power Faids, ImageNow, and Department of Education Software along with InfoMaker Report Writer preferred.

Experience with data collection and analysis are essential to the Center's effort to report on students' employment and graduate school outcomes.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Circulation Manager the Part Time Evening / Weekend Library Assistant is responsible for courteous and efficient services to library patrons. Responsible for helping patron’s access library materials and using databases, as well as performing a variety of library circulation duties including answering user questions, checking materials in and out of the library; greeting visitors, assisting with room reservations, reporting maintenance and IT issues when appropriate.  Will be responsible for accepting and recording fines, closing and/or opening the library, upholding Library policy and procedures.  The incumbents will respond and follow protocol for emergency alarms like fire or tornado.  Hours are primarily weekends with one evening a week and may fluctuate according to library needs.  Additional hours may be required during peak times (finals or special events).  Other duties as assigned.  This position is responsible for covering the hours of Saturday 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM, Sunday 12:00-5:30 PM and Tuesday 5:00-11:00 PM. 

Provides comprehensive circulation services to library users, including checking materials in and out of the library, updating user records, and resolving user disputes.

Answers basic directional and reference questions at the service desk.

Opens and closes building following a checklist.

Monitors security of the building by registering visitors, responding to complaints, and walking through the building. Contacts appropriate personnel when needed. Coordinates evacuation of building in an emergency.

Collects fine payments; records transactions.

Completes other projects as assigned. 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.

Demonstrable computer skills: typing, basics in Microsoft Office in order trouble-shoot patrons having issues.

Working knowledge of a library.

Computer literacy including the use of e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Ability to maneuver 35 lb. book carts and move books, including reaching and lifting.

Ability to work independently and to use good judgement to resolve problems.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.

The Content Writer develops copy and raises public awareness of Avila University through earned, owned and paid media initiatives. The Content Writer is responsible for promoting the brand tone, University mission, services, students, and faculty. The Content Writer is an integral part of the Advancement team and reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications.

This person will assist the Sr. Directors (in Marketing and Advancement) in the production and distribution of external and internal original content across multiple platforms, including print, digital, social, email, education, and general communications channels. Specific outlets and responsibilities include magazine, websites, newsletters, press releases, event descriptions, presentations, articles, advertising and marketing materials based on need.  

Qualifications
The Content Writer should either possess the following skill sets and/or be able to perform described essential duties as outlined.

Requirements:
- Must possess a natural curiosity and the desire to develop stories and fully understand new topics and/or materials through research, interviews, and collaboration.
- Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and have the self-motivation to work ahead.
- Must be able to switch gears and write in a variety of styles/tones to match the desired outcome, ie: educate, inform, persuade, motivate or entertain.
- Excellent project management skills and ability/temperament to juggle multiple deadlines from multiple clients.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for the general repair and maintenance of the building equipment. Primary responsibilities: Operates and maintains all HVAC equipment, including but not limited to: Chillers, boilers, condensers, fin-tube, PTAC units, air handlers, and associated control systems. This full time employee also repairs and installs electrical equipment, such as electrical outlets, ballasts, circuit breakers, etc, and other electrical systems equipment; repairs plumbing: sinks, traps, toilets, urinals, flush valves, supply valves, etc. and water fountains.; painting and patchwork to maintain buildings in good condition as needed; performs locksmith responsibilities; carpentry work and repairs to sidewalks and parking lots. Performs maintenance of buildings and grounds, such as snow removal. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications         

Must have knowledge of MEP: HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems, related tools and their uses, and carpentry. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs, stand and/or wait for long periods, perform the mentioned tasks while in various physical positions, and climb up to 15 ft. ladder. Ability to follow both oral and written directions, work with and take direction from staff; have basic computer skills. Read blueprints and equipment specification/operation manuals. Experience and/or coursework in Ammonia Refrigeration and Boiler operations also required. High School/GED required. Substantial maintenance experience in above mentioned tasks. Must pass a background check for criminal records.

Responsibilities
Correspond with appropriate community member for courses and articulation agreements.
Responsible for updating Articulation Agreements.
Correspond with appropriate faculty, chairs and deans for course evaluations.
Process course evaluation updates.
Update agreement worksheets and course evaluations for the web.
Relay updates to the Registrar
All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Current student who has been accepted into a graduate program at Avila University.

EDUCATION:
         Bachelor degree.
EXPERIENCE:
         Appropriate work experience in an office setting.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
         Excellent customer service skills. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and data entry.
         Attention to detail. Willingness to learn.
         Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities.
         Ability to research and review data for accuracy.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (IN ADDITION TO MINIMUM) EDUCATION:
         Bachelor degree in business, communication, education, or English.
EXPERIENCE:
         One year in an academic environment.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
         Basic proficiency with Microsoft office and Jenzabar EX or other
         academic administrative software system.
