Richard Gergel, United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, will present the 50th anniversary Harry S. Truman Distinguished Lecture about his book, Unexampled Courage: The Blinding of Sgt. Woodard and the Awakening of America, at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 25.
Following the lecture will be an interactive workshop around socially responsible action steps titled, “Moving Forward.” Both activities are free and open to Avila students and the wider community.
