School of Imaging Science: Admission

Admission Criteria

Students are accepted into the Radiologic Science major by decision of the department faculty based on the criteria for admission and the number of positions available after admission to the university. All students must satisfactorily pass a drug and alcohol screening, criminal background checks, and provide a physical examination and immunization copies prior to the start of the Radiologic Science courses. Drug Screens and background check expenses are covered by program fees. All students in the program pay a fee of $220 per academic semester while in the program to cover these costs as well as radiation monitoring devices, etc. All students are also required to provide proof of insurance prior to starting clinicals.

Please Note: If you wish to be considered for next year’s class you will need to first be accepted to the university, then submit the major application by the deadline. Applicants will not be eligible for an interview until they have received a letter of acceptance from Avila. Applicants who reapply are not guaranteed a second interview.
