Oct. 15 is Founders’ Day at Avila University, celebrating the Feast Day of St. Teresa of Avila as well as the establishment of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1650.
This week first-year students participated in a Founders’ Day presentation led by Director of University Mission & Ministry Dave Armstrong. Dave connected the history of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ) with the students in attendance and how their stories are now part of both the Sisters’ and Avila’s stories. “Avila students are called in the tradition of our founding Sisters who identify needs and serve the needs of one another.” Deo adjuvant non timendum #AvilaProud
