Avila University Will Host Career and Internship Fair

(March 21, 2018) KANSAS CITY, MO – Avila University will host a career and internship fair for both Avila students and the Kansas City Community on April 12.

Over 45 businesses have reserved a spot in the Avila career and internship fair including such notable firms as American Century Investments, Arvest Bank, Centerpoint Medical Center, Spencer Reed Group, Cerner, DST Systems, Sprint, Garmin and State Street.

There will be two sessions for employers to meet and network with job seekers.  The first session will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the second session will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The career fair will be held in the Athletic Pavilion (Building 14) on the campus of Avila University.

“We are thrilled to host an inaugural career fair with numerous professional companies in the Kansas City area,” said Jamie McConnell, director of graduate admission at Avila.  “As a part of the Avila Promise, it’s our commitment to provide students with opportunities to grow professionally, and this career fair will help us accomplish this goal.  Members of the community are encouraged to join us for this event.”  

The career fair is one of the ways of fulfilling the new Avila Promise. A guaranteed research and internship is one of four pillars of the Avila Promise which was announced last September. In addition to the internship opportunity, the Avila Promise lowers and protects tuition costs, guarantees on-time graduation and offers a travel opportunity.
