The School of Education at Avila University invites applications for the position of Assessment Coordinator.  Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Avila University is committed to teaching students to be advocates for social justice, regardless of their profession or academic field.  The university is committed to educating students as global citizens, capable of engaging across social and cultural boundaries. 
The person hired for the position will:

  • Maintain all assessment data bases used in the unit.  Manage the movement of data between School of Education and other university data bases. 
  • Create new assessment data bases.
  • Align assessment instruments with accreditation standards.
  • Update and launch key assessments and surveys used in the unit. 
  • Complete assessment reports for internal and external review processes and accreditation.
  • Train faculty, staff, students, and external constituents as needed on the use of assessment systems used in the School of Education.
  • Serve as the School of Education representative on the university-wide assessment committee.
  • Serve as unit certification officer and liaison between the Missouri State Department of Education Teacher Certification Office and the Avila School of Education.

Coordinates, oversees, and/or performs a wide variety of support activities, secretarial services, and confidential assignments for the President of the University. Some of the major responsibilities include:

The Department of Law and Justice Studies housed within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Avila University invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor or associate professor to teach courses in criminology and sociology or psychology.
