The Writing Center at Avila University:

The Writing Center is located in the Learning Commons and Hooley Bundschu Library.  The Writing Center offers walk-in assistance as well as convenient appointments. The Purdue University Writing Lab was one of the first writing labs to go online, and it remains one of the best websites for college level writing. This online writing lab (OWL) contains excellent handouts on a multitude of topics and links to other high quality OWL’s. You should spend a little time surfing this site to see all it has to offer.

Southern University of Illinois at Carbondale sponsors this OWL which contains very helpful handouts, as well as information and links to less popular styles such as Turabian and Chicago.

AU News

Avila University is seeking comments from the public about the University in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The University will host a visit February 26-27, 2018 with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Avila University has been accredited by HLC since 1946. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation.

The public is invited to submit comments regarding the University to the following address:

The public may also submit comments on HLC’s website at www.hlcommission.org/comment.
