Avila Education Association (AEA)

Avila Education Association is open to all undergraduate and graduate teacher education and international advocacy students, as well as those interested in these fields. The purpose of this organization is to provide opportunities for professional growth, professional and social networking, and community service.

Kappa Delta Pi (KDPI)

Kappa Delta Pi is an international Honor Society in Education. It is open to all undergraduate and graduate teacher education students who meet the requirements. Kappa Delta Pi is designed to help active members grow professionally. Membership provides an opportunity to enhance leadership experiences, collaborate with members and professionals in the educational field, have fellowship with others, and network with local and national educators. It also provides access to exemplary programs, publications, and fellow educators. In addition to teaching and research tools, members also have the opportunity to receive scholarships and awards.

AEA/KDPi Membership

Avila Education Association (AEA) Membership Requirements

Avila Education Association is open to all students in Teacher Education, International Advocacy students as well as students in other majors/minors that are interested in education or international advocacy. AEA membership dues are $15.00 a year. 

Kappa Delta Pi (KDPi) Membership Requirements

Kappa Delta Pi is an international Honor Society in Education. It is open to all elementary, middle, secondary, special education, graduate initial certification and international advocacy students who meet membership requirements. For information on membership dues or the application process, please go to the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society website.

Undergraduate Requirements

*3.0 GPA in all Avila coursework
*At least twelve (12) hours of education coursework in progress or completed at Avila University
*A declared education major or minor at Avila University
*Completed at least thirty (30) credit hours in degree or certificate area
*Transfer students with at least sophomore standing must establish a GPA at Avila University
*Member of Avila Education Association

Graduate Certification Requirements

*3.25 GPA in all Avila coursework
*Accepted into Avila's graduate program and pursuing coursework in education
*At least six (6) semester hours of education coursework in progress or completed at Avila University
*Must have a total of twelve (12) education hours in progress or completed
*Member of Avila Education Association
