We recognize that many of our Avila University community members are eager for an update on our presidential search. We are pleased to inform you that we have made much progress over the past few weeks.
Our national search yielded 40 applicants with an outstanding mix of skills, experiences, and qualifications. We are also very pleased with the diversity of our candidate pool. We worked very closely with our Search Committee and our search consultant to narrow our pool to 8 semi-finalist candidates. We interviewed our candidates earlier this month and were highly successful. The Search Committee once again had the unenviable task of narrowing the pool to three finalist candidates and those candidates will be returning to Kansas City for a more in-depth round of interviews in January. The Search Committee will provide a report to the Board of Trustees soon after the finalist interviews and expect that our search will conclude by February 2022.
The Search Committee will continue to stay in touch with you throughout the process, and we welcome your comments and questions at any time. Again, we want to reiterate that we are very pleased with the quality of the candidate pool, particularly with our slate of finalist candidates, and have every reason to believe that our search will come to a successful conclusion.
