
Dr. Natalie Cobb is an Associate Professor, and she serves as the Director of Clinical and Field-Based Experiences for graduate and undergraduate students at Avila University. Within these roles: she supervises the Teaching Excellence Team, she supervises all field placements for Practicum and Special Methods, she supervises all teacher candidates and interns, and she is the professor for the Final Clinical Experience Seminar class. Dr. Cobb also teaches other Education classes, including Final Clinical Experience, Seminar, Capstone, and Advanced Special methods. She is an academic advisor in the school of Education for Language Arts, Speech/Theater, and P.E. Before coming to Avila, Dr. Cobb taught high school English for ten years in the Shawnee Mission and De Soto school districts in Kansas. She also served on the Curriculum Council, and she was the Department Chairperson. She has certifications in secondary English and Social Studies. Her areas of expertise are curriculum, instruction, and teacher development. Dr. Cobb has presented at Regional and National conferences. Dr. Cobb holds her Doctoral degree from the University of Kansas in Curriculum and Instruction. Helping Education students who are at the end of the program at Avila as they transition from a student teacher to having their own classroom and their first job is Dr. Cobb’s passion. Her other passion is her family. The “Cobb squad” includes my husband, my three children, and several pets.
