Avila University Campus Ministries

See why everyone is talking about Avila University’s Office of Ministry, Spirituality & Action:

  • Serve communities both locally and internationally
  • Build upon your leadership skills
  • Unite with friends in prayer
  • Grow spiritually
  • Engage your mind through religious study
  • Contribute to the University’s 140,000 total service hours

The Office of Ministry, Spirituality & Action (OMSA) promotes action & service as a way to build faith and to show faith by living it.  We seek to create a culture of faith and service where all Avila students will be empowered to reach out into the community in a variety of ways.  For us, faith is a lived experience. We live out our faith in relationship with God, self, others and the earth.  Inspired by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, we live the unifying love of God and serve the dear neighbor without distinction.  We profess that to love God we must show it by loving one another. OMSA offers various ministries for students to be involved in as participants or as leaders.

OUR MISSION

The Office of Ministry, Spirituality & Action affirms the values and vision of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, striving to assist and promote the spiritual development of members of the Avila community, especially students through unity, prayer, and service.

As a non-athlete, joining the Campus Ministry leadership team also allows you to apply for a performance grant, which is in addition to your academic scholarship.
