Avila University to Graduate 427 Students

(May 10, 2016) KANSAS CITY, MO – Avila University will hold commencement exercises on Saturday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. In all, 113 graduate students and 314 undergraduate students will come forward in the Grand Ballroom at the Kansas City Convention Center to receive their college diplomas.

Michelle Pace will give the undergraduate commencement address. Pace is the recipient of the Jeanne Collins Thompson Ariston Award. The award is presented to one outstanding senior, based on academic merit, leadership and service. Ariston winners are considered the top representatives of Avila’s founding mission and core values.


Richard Snedegar will give the graduate student address. An Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters will also be presented to Cerner leader and founder of the First Hand Foundation, Jeanne M. Lillig-Patterson.

Master’s and baccalaureate degrees will be awarded from the Schools of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Education, Professional Studies, Nursing, Science and Health, and Visual and Communication Arts.
