Avila Announces Dr. Sue King as Vice President

KANSAS CITY, MO – Reporting to Avila University President Ron Slepitza and remaining on the Executive Committee, Dr. Sue King will carry the new title of Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Information Services. She will focus of the increasingly heavy demand for real-time data, delivery of data, helping others to use data to demonstrate effectiveness, as well as assessment and institution accreditation. She will continue to oversee the areas of information technology, information services, and the Learning Commons. Through these areas she will continue to support the learning environment and will continue with the review of advising.

The realignment is a result of Avila University’s focus on the learning environment and with attention being given to data driven decision-making and effective best practices to reach the university’s strategic plan.

“The purpose of the Executive Committee realignment is to better respond to the challenges and changing conditions throughout higher education,” said Slepitza, “and to further focus on our commitment to improving student retention, completion through graduation and acquiring jobs beyond college.”
