Graphic Design Minor

Graphic Design Minor Course Requirements

The Graphic Design Minor supplements majors from business, marketing, advertising and public relations, and computer science. The curriculum helps students develop the visual literacy skills needed to effectively contribute to a wide range of creative enterprise.

Minor Requirements: 18 total credit hours

Design foundations – 12 hours:

AR 117 Two-Dimensional Design (FA)

AR 245 Typography  (FA)

AR 345 Typography II (SP)

AR 271 Digital Media: Design Software (FA, SP)

Mid-level design - 3 hours from the following:

AR 346 Graphics II (SP)

AR 379 Digital Media: Design for the Web (FA)

Upper-level design - 3 hours from the following:

AR 442 Design Studio I: Identity (FA)

AR 444 Design Studio II: Format (SP)

AR 447 Design Studio III: Publication (FA)

AR 471 Digital Media: Design for the Web II (SP)
