Hip Hop comes to the VisCom Creative Commons
VisCom’s IS 367 – Art, Advertising & Hip Hop Culture course conducted its 2nd Annual Hip Hop Immersion Experience on April 2nd. The event represents the culmination of the course and explores all the social, cultural, and political elements of hip-hop culture including graffiti, Emceeing, DJing, poetry, spoken word, and music. Students critically examined the effervescent relationship between art, advertising and pop culture, and presented interactive projects highlighting their perspectives on hip hop culture. Representatives of the hip hop community showcased their talents live. The course is taught by Professors Marci Aylward (aka Prof A) and Dr. J. Anthony Snorgrass (aka Drj).
