Students Build Cultural Understanding Through Food

Students enjoying a meal at the Blue Nile restaurant in Kansas City, after learning about the cuisine and food customs of Ethiopia in the Food and Culture course. Professors Eric Winter and Dotty Hamilton teach the interdisciplinary course, using food as a lens to learn about a wide variety of food-related issues from intercultural communication and food branding/packaging to the impact of the industrialized food system on the global economy.
