Dr. Nick Haverhals
Associate Professor and Chair of Mathematics
Dr. Haverhals completed his Master’s at South Dakota State (2007) and his Ph.D. at the University of Montana (May 2011). That fall, he began working at Avila University.more
Dr. Haverhals enjoys teaching a wide variety of mathematics courses, which he has been able to do during his time at Avila. His research interests include undergraduate mathematics education and any open question accessible to undergraduates. When he’s not working, Dr. Haverhals enjoys spending time with his wife, three young sons and dog, watching sports, reading (mostly non-fiction) and small home improvement projects.
Dr. Hadas Moshonov-Cohavi

Dr. Moshonov-Cohavi earned her PhD in Statistics from the University of Toronto (2007).more
Shortly after her graduation she joined the research office of the Medical Imaging Department at the University Health Network in Toronto and served as a research statistician designing and supporting various research studies. In addition, Dr. Moshonov-Cohavi has a true passion for teaching math and has been engaged in teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses in Mathematics and Statistics since 2003. Her research interests include classification using logistic regression, measures of agreement and reproducibility and undergraduate mathematics and statistics education. At home, she enjoys cooking, walking in nature, studying spiritual wisdom, practicing Kung-Fu and spending time with her family.
