Now Certifying in Chemistry Education and Physical Education

The School of Education is excited to announce that it has been approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to begin offering teacher certification in Chemistry Education (grades 9-12) and Physical Education (grades K-12) beginning in fall 2018! Avila Alum Honored by National PTA

Congratulations to Avila alum, Timothy Greenwell, Jr., for being awarded the National PTA's Life Achievement Award, the highest honor given to PTA members and leaders. Mr. Greenwell is currently an elementary principal in Flower Mound, TX. He is devoted to advocating for children's education, health and well-being.

Mr. Greenwell received his Masters of Education and social studies certification through Avila University's School of Education.

Dr. Nilufer Guler, Asst. Professor in the School of Education, Publishes Book

Dr. Nilufer Guler, Assistant Professor in the School of Education, recently published
   Optimizing Elementary Education for English Language Learners. IGI Global.
School of Education faculty, Dr. Wendy Donnell, Associate Professor, and Dr. Sue Ellen McCalley, Professor, each wrote a chapter for Dr. Guler's book.
