"Every time I am in the Music department — be it in class or rehearsal or for a special event — I always leave knowing more than what I did going in. It's as if every moment is a learning experience, and that alone drives me to be present both mentally and physically. It has been in these moments my knowledge in music theory, history and application has excelled. The faculty truly want you to succeed and their teaching methods support that belief; they will go out of their way for you. As a singer my confidence has grown two-fold along with the skills and techniques that accompany being a tenor. It has been through their unwavering dedication that I have been able to discover this confidence for myself. Beyond the classroom, the students themselves support your success and are cheerleaders for your development. It is understood that together we are an ensemble and we learn, create and grow as such. With that kind of support system and a personal drive to learn, there is no way a person can fail. You will not only come away with a strong academic and performance background, but you will also gain personal, life-long habits that will carry you through out life."

"My first year at Avila was a life changing experience. My field of study was undecided and I was blindsided by the idea of a degree in music. I am now graduated with a BA in Music with an emphasis in voice. Avila's music department is unmatchable. The department is small, but it is lead by big hearted, knowledgeable professors. The relationships I have formed with the music faculty are irreplaceable. Through my career at Avila, I have grown so much as musician and as a person."

"Every sight we saw, every step we took, every minute we spent in Italy was perfect. It has been an honor and a joy to be a member of University Singers these past three years. Thank you Avila University for everything you've given me."

"I'm only a sophomore, but the music department at Avila University has been a great learning experience for me! The instructors have been completely dedicated to helping and assisting me whenever I face problems; whether it is vocal or instrumental needs. I recommend any student consider being a part of the Music Department at Avila University."
