The Library/Learning Commons is happy to offer tours and library/research instruction sessions!

The IT support-desk is located next to the circulation desk in the Learning Commons. The IT support staff can solve problems with networks, computer-devices, software, and other types of technology.
The desk is staffed sporadically from 8:30am - 6:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am - 6pm on Friday.
Computers and Laptops
The Learning Commons provides 16 Desktop PCs and 6 Macs.
For your convenience, we also provide 60 laptops (with optional accessories) for check out.
To use the computers, please login using your Avila username and password (Same as MyAU or Canvas)
If you have issues logging in or if you have been locked out of your account, please seek out help from the I.T. Department (816.501.2900 or stop by the help desk).
**When using any Avila computers, do not save to the desktop. The files will not save after you log off.**
Books may be borrowed from the Library/Learning Commons or from any MOBIUS Library.
The MOBIUS catalog links us to libraries throughout the state of Missouri and even some libraries from surrounding states. There are currently well over 70 libraries to choose from!
Requested books will be delivered to the Library/Learning Commons circulation desk, unless the requester chooses to have it sent elsewhere (which is possible). Most materials borrowed from Missouri libraries will arrive approximately 3-5 days after the initial request. Materials coming from out of state may take longer (10-15 days).
All books check out for 28 days, unless specified and may be renewed once. MOBIUS renewals may be denied based on the lending library's policies, but this is uncommon.
To check out a book or pick up any requested materials, please have your Avila ID or other valid photo ID (Driver's licence, Military ID, etc.)

Print, Copy, and Scan Services
The Library/Learning Commons provides two multi-purpose printers (Hooley and Bundschu). In addition to printing they offer copying and scanning.
Students are provided with an allotment of print money each semester (Undergraduate: $30 Graduate: $35). Once this is spent, the student is responsible for adding their own funds.
Copying Services are available for a small fee (cash or check only, no print credits).

- $0.25/pg (color)
Scanning is free.
