Master of Social Work (MSW)

Avila University and Saint Louis University (SLU) have partnered to offer you an innovative Master of Social Work (MSW) program. This innovative, online/on-campus hybrid model program prepares students to be advanced practitioners of social work. This MSW will prepare you to act as agents of change to promote individual and societal well-being.

Approximately 60% of your classes will be taught through an online format by Saint Louis University. The remainder of the courses are taught on-campus at Avila University in a face-to-face classroom, including your practicum planning and seminar courses.

Students who complete the program will earn a degree from Saint Louis University which is a nationally and globally recognized leader in social work education, ranked in the top 20% of programs by U.S. News and World Report.

Why Choose the Saint Louis University MSW at Avila?

  • SLU is founded on the Jesuit tradition of “educating the whole person” – learning as much as possible about social work and service while committing to serve humankind with compassion.
  • SLU offers the opportunity for students to get an MSW from a highly ranked and internationally known program without having to be physically present on SLU’s campus.
  • Our faculty are leaders in combining classroom activities and community-based practice.

  • Advanced Standing – Students who have earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited program can complete the program in 39 credit hours.
