MAEd in TESL (adult education)


Follow your passion for teaching English learners with the Master of Arts in Education in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) program.  Our program will enhance your ability to teach English to speakers of other languages and engage you in world language instruction and acquisition.  Grow your communication skills with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. 

Program Highlights

  1. Diverse student population in the program with students from all over the United States and the world.

  2. Evening courses meet once per week.

  3. Occasional online course.

  4. Eight-week courses. Focus on one course at a time.

  5. Transfer in up to nine previous graduate hours

  6. Flexible enrollment – attend part-time or full-time

  7. Several enrollment start dates throughout the year – start any semester


In order to earn the Master of Arts in Education in TESL, students must complete a total of 30 credit hours.  

Each of the courses in this program are 8 weeks in length.

Applicants for the Master of Arts in Education in TESL degree program must hold a baccalaureate degree with an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 from a regionally accredited institution.

Students in the Master of Arts in Education in TESL degree program can pay for each course as they enroll or explore additional payment options with our Student Financial Services office.

There is no application fee, and textbooks and all other fees are included in the total cost of tuition. Costs are the same for students in Missouri or from outside the state.
