For the Master of Arts in Education in Special Education, students must complete a total of 89 credit hours. 

Initial teacher certification requires 71 credit hours, with an additional 18 credit hours remaining to earn the full master's degree.  

Teacher candidates will earn DUAL CERTIFICATION in both elementary (grades 1-6) and special education (grades K-12) upon completion of the initial teacher certification requirements.
