Admission Requirements

Requirements for International Admission

To be admitted into the MBA Program for International Students, applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and intend to be full-time students (a minimum of 6 credit hours per trimester) until the completion of their graduation requirements. Scholarships are not available for international students, although campus jobs and graduate assistantships are available on a limited basis.

International Students seeking admission into the MBA Program must submit the following application materials:

1.  Submit an online application

2. Transcripts 

Official bachelor's degree transcripts are required to be translated and received directly from World Education Services or Education Credential Evaluators. Transcripts sent by students or their agency are not acceptable.

3. GMAT Score Report

Applicants will be required to submit a GMAT report showing a score of 420 or higher prior to consideration by the admissions committee. The GMAT report must sent to Avila directly from the GMAT authority.

4. TOEFL or IELTS Score Report

Must be official report sent directly to Avila from TOEFL or IELTS. The TOEFL or IELTS is required as proof of English proficiency unless the student is a native speaker of English or is from a country whose main language is English. Minimum required scores (see table below):

Please note:

* Students who do not meet the GMAT and/or TOEFL Requirements can directly enroll in Avila's Intensive Language and Culture Program (ILCP) initially, and then apply to the MBA program.

5. Copy of Passport 

Names must match on all documents.

6. Verification of Financial Support 

In order to meet U.S. Immigration requirements for entry into the United States, proof of sufficient financial resources to cover educational and living expenses for the duration of your program must be in place before visa documents can be issued. Proof of funding can consist of either student's certified bank statements or student's sponsor (parents or cultural commission) guaranteeing the student's ability to meet the costs of study in the United States.  Documentation must show a minimum of $19,500 USD.

Avila University is seeking comments from the public about the University in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The University will host a visit February 26-27, 2018 with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Avila University has been accredited by HLC since 1946. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation.
