For the fourth year in a row, Avila University’s Office of Advancement and Marketing & Communication won the “Sweepstakes Award” at the district conference for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Although tied with Cornell College this year, Avila’s team has received this prestigious recognition five of the past six years.
Avila received this comprehensive award, along with five individual awards, at the District VI annual conference held at the Westin Crown Center. Avila competed against 44 schools from Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Areas of competition included publications, special events, public relations, alumni relations and fund raising. Individuals representing higher education institutions outside District VI served as judges for the competition.
Avila received the “Sweepstakes Award” for institutions with an enrollment of 1,000 to 3,000 students. In addition, Avila also received one gold award for Excellence in Alumni Programming for Purple Reign Avila Homecoming; three silver awards for Excellence in Fundraising Materials for Avila’s annual fund brochure, Excellence in Graphic Design for Alumni Eagles coloring book, and Excellence in Writing for an editorial by Avila president Ron Slepitza; and one bronze award for Excellence in Fundraising Special Events for Steer Dinner.
