Design is so much more than 2-D. The work of Matthew Hawkins, of Custompapertoys.com, is proof positive that design can be even more dynamic in a 3-D environment. During a visit to the Graphics I class, Hawkins shared the story of how he managed to turn a passion for illustration into a career designing and building custom paper toys and products. His work has been published in multiple books with a client list including such names a Sonic, General Electric and Disney. After presenting his work, Hawkins stayed to help the students with their current paper toy projects. He shared basic shape building tips and gave valued feedback for turning a sketch into a 3-D model. The students were most appreciative of Hawkins' expert insight and advice. Thank you Matt!
