Art + Design studio arts professor Marci Aylward's painting Pandora's Boxes
was exhibited as part of The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art's biennial Beyond Bounds exhibition. The event raises support for exhibitions and arts educations programs at the museum.
Each year the museum chooses a color and invites regional, national and international artists to produce a piece inspired by the chosen color. The 2011 Beyond Bounds-Brilliant! exhibition embraced the color yellow.
...we sought a word which best exemplifies artists — their talent, their innovation and their extraordinary contributions to our lives. We chose BRILLIANT! And, the color yellow was selected to symbolize brilliance. Luminous, radiant, shining and ingenious — all signify the word BRILLIANT!
