Janice Mead, who is teaching Art as Therapy this fall, will be presenting at the annual KATA Conference (Kansas Art Therapy Association), speaking about Trauma Focused Art Therapy Directives. Nannie has her BA in Art Therapy and her MA in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Avila. She is been busy since graduating from Avila - she's a Licensed and Registered Professional Counselor (LPC), Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), a Recognized Associate Substance Abuse Counselor II (RASACII), and a clinical Trauma Specialist (CTS). In addition to teaching for our Art Therapy program, she counsels at Ozanam School and day center for children, and has her private practice, Art Affects. We are thrilled to have Janice back in the classroom!!
