How do I change my password? (Network and/or Email)
There are two ways that Avila users can change their Network and mail password.

At Avila - when on campus:

When logged on to a computer while on campus, you change your password by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys simultaneously. This will display the window shown below. Note: Your User Name will appear instead of davenpostsm , which was used in this example.

Select the “Change Password” button. On the next window follow the prompts entering your current (or old ) password once, and a new password, then again to confirm it.

Away from Avila - when away from campus

Take note Avila employees away from campus for an extended stay (e.g. Summer months).  

For those email users working remotely (e.g. from home) using the email web interface OWA (or Outlook Web Access),  you can change your password from within OWA.   Just click on “Options” near the bottom left-hand-corner.   You will then need to scroll down until you see the “Change Password” button.  Select this and an “Avila University – Password Reset” window will appear.

Follow the prompts.   Enter your username in the box labeled “Account” (e.g. davenportsm, gartengf, etc. ) .   Supply your Old password, New password, then Confirm the new password.    You're done.   (Click here for an image of this)

You've remotely changed the password for both your Email and your Network logins.  Remember that this password will also be needed for your next computer Network login the next time you're on campus at Avila .    If you forget your password, contact Information Technology Services for a password reset.   After validating your identity, we'll provide you with a temporary password which you can then update.

How do I change my Jenzabar EX password?

For those of you with Jenzabar EX installed on your PC:

The recent upgrade to Jenzabar EX Version 2 makes password changing easier.   EX Password changing is now done while logged onto your module.   Select Tools, then Change user Password.   Follow the prompts.

How do I share my calendar in Outlook?

Granting Permissions to Outlook Staff Calendars - On the staff pc that needs to share the calendar, right click on Calendar and choose “Properties”.

  1. Click on the “Permissions” tab.
  2. Click the Add button and double click on the staff member you need to give permissions to (i.e. Marcos Harders).
  3. From the “Permission Level” drop down box, choose “Publishing Editor”.
  4. Click the OK button to make the changes permanent.

Once this process has been completed, the person with whom you’ve shared will be able to access your calendar by doing the following:

  1. From within Outlook, click on the File Menu -> Open -> Other User’s Folder.
  2. Type in the name of the person’s calendar you’re trying to access or click on “Name” and choose them from the global address list.
  3. Then choose Calendar from the drop down list.

**  The next time you’d like to view their calendar, click on the File Menu and choose Open. It will now be listed.
