Mock Trial is a national intercollegiate activity that promotes critical thinking, cooperative problem solving, public speaking and mutual trust among team members while affording students the opportunity to actively participate in the trial process.  Students assume the roles of both attorneys and witnesses for a hypothetical case, and engage in trial activity and litigation.   The student teams present the case in front of judges in competitions against teams from colleges and universities around the Midwest, as well as the entire nation.

Mock Trial is not just for those students thinking about attending law school.  The oral communication and logical reasoning skills that are honed in mock trial will benefit all students, regardless of their intended vocation.  Doctors, politicians, business persons, nurses, teachers, accountants, and virtually every profession rely on these skills.

Mock Trial is a year long course.   The case materials change each year therefore, students are encouraged to re-enroll each academic year.  Financial grants for Mock Trial team members are available on a competitive basis for incoming freshman and transfer students.
