Hi my name is Ashley Sanford and I am a transfer student from Springfield, Mo. I am a Sports Science major and plan on continuing my education after graduation. I am going to get my masters in Athletic Training at Texas Tech. My dream is to work for a professional team and to get there I am willing to work as hard as it takes to make that my reality.
I am the Secretary of BSU and along with that I work with the Avila University Football Team as the Head Football Coach’s assistant. Being on the executive board of the Black Student Union was never on my plan but somehow that is where I ended up. As random as it was, I could not be any happier that it happened. I have met a lot of interesting people (to put it in a broad term) and I am looking forward to what we have planned for the community in the months to come. |

I am a First year student at Avila University. I am the youngest of four children of a single Nigerian woman located in North Kansas City, Missouri. I am a Biology and Music Double Major. I want to be a Genetics Counselor and Voice teacher to make money one the side. I love to sing, dance, and write any thing to any kind of music.
I chose Avila University because it was close to home and affordable for my family. I have met a lot of very different people with different backgrounds here at Avila. I love to learn about different cultures and ideas. I have became more opened minded to a lot of new experiences.
I hope to continue to share and learn from others. I hope that you can enjoy my poems that I submit to the newspaper. I also invite anyone and everyone to come out to join or just support Black Student Union events. I hope to continue to share my various talents with everyone on campus so stay tuned. |
