Daggett’s passion for his research came after suffering an illness as a child and he wanted to explore how the body works. He can often be found working in the lab with one of his friends, Clamydomonas. Clamydomonas is a single-celled, harmless, algae that Daggett uses in his research. When not in the lab working with algae and infectious diseases, Daggett spends time playing the piano and enjoying classic films. His favorite film is All the President’s Men – a 1976 classic, starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford. As a biologist, Daggett serves as the editor of the Bioscience Journal of College Biology. He has taught at Avila for 14 years. He received his bachelor of arts in biology from Oberlin College in Ohio and his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. Daggett also conducted research for the National Institute of Health, the largest public services research foundation. For more information about our Biology department, please click here. |
