Reulan LevineJ. Anthony Snorgrass joined the Avila full-time faculty in 2005 after having been an adjunct professor since 2000.  He serves as an assistant professor of communication and is the faculty advisor for the The Talon, Avila’s student newspaper.

Snorgrass has had a diverse professional career spanning over 25 years as a public service executive, corporate executive, entrepreneur and educator. He has served in both the public and private sector and as a consultant in advertising and marketing services to numerous not-for-profit organizations including the American Jazz Museum, Missouri Division of Tourism, and the Mutual Musicians Foundation.

Snorgrass is an active member of the community not only through his consulting work but also in local government and public policy.  Recently he was appointed to the Unified Government Ethics Commission for Wyandotte County. His past work has included serving as the Executive Director of the Kansas City Housing Authority.

Snorgrass has a bachelor of arts degree form the University of Kansas in urban design and planning, a master of city and regional planning from the Knowlton School of Architecture and a master of arts in public policy administration from the John Glenn School of Public Policy; both at Ohio State University.  Currently Snorgrass is a doctoral candidate at Walden University’s school of public policy and administration and is conducting research in new media and public policy communications.
