The Avila University Religious Studies Department provide required religious studies classes for every student on campus.We offer both a major and minor in religious studies.
As part of the core requirements, Avila’s students are required to be knowledgeable of the history and cultural practices of religious people from around the world. Students can choose from a wide variety of courses from the essential Judeo-Christian studies to world religion.
Religious studies are central to the understanding of history, art, music, politics and many other fields. The religious studies degree is designed for and open to people from all religious backgrounds. Majors receive a broad-based, liberal arts program that prepares them for the work world or graduate education.
Field experiences are a part of some religious studies courses. Students have traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and various locations within the United States participating in educational and service learning programs. |
