Registered Technologists


Already a Registered Technologist? Looking to advance your career?

Regardless of whether you came from a certificate program or already possess an Associate's degree, Avila will award you 46 credit hours just for passing the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists examination.

You will then have the opportunity to test out of several other required Radiologic Science classes.

For students possessing an Associate's degree, many of their credit hours will count towards Avila's core requirements. Your degree will actually be a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science.

You will also have the opportunity to take upper level classes of your choice in a wide range of areas including radiology management or education.

Computed Tomography Board Prep Class

Six-week condensed course designed to give a thorough overview of CT concepts.

Designed for a variety of experience levels:

  • Technologists new to CT
  • Technologists looking for an overview prior to taking their CT registry exam
  • Registered CT technologists looking for a refresher course that counts for 32 CEUs

Awarded two college credit hours that translate into 32 Continuing Education Units upon completion.

Advanced Clinical Practicum

Course designed for technologists looking to advance their clinical skills in Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Vascular and/or Cardiovascular Imaging.

Clinical sites are arranged by the Clinical Coordinator in collaboration with the student where they will work for a minimum of 20 hours/week for 15 weeks.

Students are responsible for and must complete a background check and drug screening prior to beginning rotations.

Awarded three college credit hours upon completion.
