Goppert Theatre at Avila University has announced the 2005-2006 season. The Avila University Theatre Department has been producing shows for over 30 years. With the education and guidance from accomplished professors and artists from the community, actors and actresses receive a diverse sampling of training.

The shows for the 2005-2006 season are as follows:

First Lady Suite by Michael John Lachiusa: September 29, 30, October 1, 8 p.m.;
October 2, 2 p.m. This musical comedy looks at the relationships of some of the most treasured First Ladies ever to grace the White House.

As You Like It by William Shakespeare: November 17, 18, 19, 8 p.m.;
November 20, 2 p.m.- A classic comedic tale of love and the obstacles and situations that ensue.

The Grey Zone by Tim Blake Nelson: February 23, 24, 25, 8 p.m.;
February 26, 2 p.m.-The challenging drama about the tragedies and experiences of the Holocaust.

Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida: April 27, 28, 29, 8 p.m.;
April 30, 2 p.m.-The hit Broadway musical of a forbidden love that transcends through generations.
